Good food and very kid friendly. Loved thin crust pizza. Great way to wrap up a trip to the zoo!
Upscale but comfortable decor/ atmosphere at this on-site eatery and bar at Southwick's Zoo. 11 tables in a glass patio directly overlook some zoo attractions, like flamingos and lemurs. The lunch menu has sandwiches and some creative pizzas; the dinner menu has mostly the "usual suspects" (think steak, salmon, haddock, and a few chicken dishes) at reasonable prices. Kids meals are similarly standard but come with drinks and ice cream cups included in the price. Overall, prices are very reasonable, especially for the large portions served. They have a nice draught and wine selection, with a few local breweries represented. Service was fast, friendly and helpful.

Went there this weekend, food was pretty good but service was terrible. Could barely hear what our waiter was saying (and not because there was noise, he just didn't speak loudly enough). The table next to us was seated after us, but got bread and drinks before us. Looked like they got special treatment because they knew the manager or something which is fine but not when other guests are being neglected. The person who delivered our food wasn't our waiter so he didn't ask if we needed anything else (if he opened his eyes he would have seen both our waters were empty) so we had to wait for our waiter to get back to ask for more water and for some reason it takes 5 minutes to get water...did I mention they weren't even busy? The waiter seemed inexperienced or something...he gave us our bill before we even were done eating... I don't think that's ever happened before...either way next time we go to the zoo we'll be sure to find a different near by place on Yelp to eat.
Stopped in for lunch after visiting the zoo. Large restaurant with lots of seating and a large bar area. We sat on the porch overlooking the zoo. Our waiter came over quickly for our drink order. Decent lunch menu with good kid options. Our food came out quickly and was good, kids burger, 2 sliders actually, and a buffalo chicken wrap. We also tried the brownie sundae which was great. Once construction is finished this place will be a perfect addition to the area.
